Deli Supervisor – Co. Galway

Excel Recruitment is currently recruiting a Deli Supervisor for our client’s busy supermarket in Co. Galway. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced deli professional to take the next step in their career and support the management of a fast-paced fresh food department, ensuring high standards of food quality and customer service.

Salary: €15 – €16 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the day-to-day management of the deli department, ensuring excellent food quality, freshness, and presentation
• Supervise and support deli staff, fostering a positive and productive team environment
• Help train and develop team members to deliver outstanding customer service
• Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and minimise waste to maximise profitability
• Ensure full compliance with HACCP, food safety, and health & safety regulations
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and merchandising throughout the deli area
• Support the Deli Manager in achieving sales and margin targets
• Handle customer queries and ensure a positive shopping experience at all times
• Step into a leadership role when required and assist with the smooth running of the department

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a deli, fresh food, or supervisory role within a convenience store, supermarket, or forecourt environment
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to support, motivate, and develop a team
• Good knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and hygiene standards
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Passion for fresh food and maintaining high operational standards
• Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and early mornings
