Hotel Duty Manager – Waterford

We’re delighted to be partnering with a well-established, independently owned hotel in Waterford to recruit a Duty Manager to join their management team. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a highly visible leadership role within one of the South East’s most respected hospitality destinations.

Renowned for its warm hospitality, excellent food and beverage offering, and thriving weddings and events business, this hotel enjoys strong year-round trade and a particularly busy summer season. As Duty Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the hotel while supporting and inspiring teams across all departments.

Whether you’re currently working as a Duty Manager or you’re an ambitious hospitality supervisor looking to take the next step into management, this role offers fantastic exposure, career development, and the opportunity to learn from an experienced leadership team.

What You’ll Do

• Take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the hotel, ensuring exceptional guest experiences at every stage of the customer journey.
• Support and coordinate all departments, including Front Office, Food & Beverage, Accommodation, Events, and Maintenance.
• Act as a key point of contact for guests, handling feedback and resolving issues professionally and efficiently.
• Lead and motivate teams during busy service periods, ensuring standards remain consistently high throughout the hotel.
• Support the delivery of weddings, banqueting events, conferences, and special occasions, ensuring every detail is executed seamlessly.
• Monitor operational performance and identify opportunities to improve service delivery and guest satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, hygiene, and company procedures.
• Work closely with the senior management team to drive operational excellence across the property.
• Lead by example, creating a positive and professional culture throughout the hotel.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous Duty Manager, Assistant Manager, Supervisor, or similar leadership experience within a hotel environment.
• Strong operational knowledge across Food & Beverage, guest services, accommodation, and events.
• A natural people leader who enjoys motivating teams and creating a positive working environment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• A hands-on approach with a willingness to get involved wherever needed.
• Ability to remain calm and organised in a fast-paced environment.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering memorable guest experiences.
• Previous experience with weddings and events would be advantageous but is not essential.
