Excel Recruitment is currently seeking a skilled, reliable, and adaptable Relief Chef to support our contract catering clients across Cork. About the Role

As a Relief Chef, you’ll play an essential role in ensuring our client kitchens continue to operate efficiently by providing cover where it’s needed most. You’ll have the opportunity to work across a range of catering environments, supporting experienced teams while maintaining the highest culinary standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing cover for chef absences due to annual leave or sickness
• Supporting newly opened catering sites during their launch phase
• Assisting kitchens during busy periods or when additional staffing is required
• Preparing and serving fresh, high-quality meals in line with company standards
• Maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures
• Working closely with onsite teams to ensure a smooth and efficient service

What You’ll Need

• Previous experience as a Chef in contract catering or a busy commercial kitchen
• The ability to adapt quickly to different kitchens and teams
• A professional, reliable, and positive attitude
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP procedures
• Flexibility to travel to various client locations throughout Cork
• A full driving licence and access to your own transport is an advantage
