Sous Chef

Excel Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join a well-established and busy bar & bistro located in North County Cork. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented chef looking for a good work-life balance while working in a dynamic kitchen environment.

The Role

As Sous Chef, you will support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and service. This role suits a confident and organised chef with previous experience in a similar position.

Working Schedule (4 day working week approx. 45 hours per week)

  • Thursday & Friday: Evening service
  • Saturday & Sunday: Lunch and dinner service
    • Midweek: 11:00am – 9:30pm
    • Weekends: 9:30am – 9:30pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing all kitchen operations
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety
  • Support menu development and daily specials
  • Lead and motivate the kitchen team
  • Ensure consistency and quality across all dishes

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous ready to step up
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Passion for fresh, quality food
  • HACCP knowledge essential
