At Excel Recruitment, we are recruiting a Transport Planner for our client, a leading logistics and distribution company based in Ashbourne, Co. Meath.

The role operates on a rotating shift pattern of 9:00am to 5:30pm and 10:00am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday, alternating weekly with another member of the transport planning team. There may also be occasional Saturday or Bank Holiday cover required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily transport schedules for a fleet of 20-30 vehicles.
• Organise vehicle allocation and routing to ensure efficient deliveries.
• Manage transport requirements across Dublin and nationwide locations.
• Liaise with drivers and internal teams to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
• Monitor delivery schedules and resolve any transport-related issues.
• Ensure routes are planned efficiently while meeting customer service expectations.
• Maintain accurate transport planning records and documentation.
• Support the wider transport function as required.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in transport planning, logistics or fleet coordination.
• Strong knowledge of the Dublin road network.
• Experience planning routes and managing vehicle schedules.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to think on your feet and resolve issues quickly.
• A proactive approach with strong attention to detail.

What’s on offer

• Salary €36,000
• Monday to Friday working hours.
