Store Manager – Limerick

Excel Recruitment is delighted to partner with our long-standing and rapidly expanding client to recruit an experienced Store Manager for their busy, high-volume site in Limerick City.

Salary: €60k, Bonus up to €10k and Company Pension.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and respected retail group renowned for delivering outstanding fuel, convenience retail, fresh food, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for the overall performance and profitability of the forecourt and convenience store
• Lead, motivate, coach, and develop a high-performing management and store team
• Recruit, train, and retain talented employees across all departments
• Drive sales growth while maximising profitability through effective commercial decision-making
• Monitor KPIs, sales, margins, labour costs, and shrinkage, implementing action plans where required
• Manage staff rosters and labour budgets to ensure excellent customer service while controlling costs
• Ensure exceptional merchandising, stock availability, and presentation standards throughout the site
• Oversee stock control, ordering, inventory management, and waste reduction initiatives
• Deliver outstanding customer service and ensure a consistently excellent customer experience
• Manage all cash handling, banking, and financial controls in line with company procedures
• Produce and analyse financial and operational reports, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, food safety, HACCP, licensing, and company policies
• Maintain forecourt safety standards, ensuring all fuel operations comply with legislation and best practice
• Build strong relationships with suppliers, local customers, and the wider community
• Drive local marketing initiatives and promotional activity to maximise site performance

Requirements

• Previous management experience within a high-volume forecourt, convenience retail, or supermarket environment
• Proven ability to lead large teams and deliver outstanding commercial results
• Strong experience managing KPIs, sales performance, labour costs, stock control, and profitability
• Excellent knowledge of retail operations, customer service, and people management
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation, HACCP, employment legislation, and consumer law
• Commercially focused with the ability to identify opportunities and respond quickly to market trends
• A hands-on leader with excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
• Passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences and developing successful teams
