I’m partnering with a renowned 4-star hotel in Galway to recruit a talented and driven Sous Chef to join an exceptional culinary team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious chef to work with high-quality, fresh ingredients across a diverse food offering including a busy bar, restaurant, and banqueting operation. You’ll play a key role in delivering outstanding dining experiences while developing your career within a progressive and supportive kitchen environment. What You’ll Do

  • Support the Head Chef in the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen across bar, restaurant, and banqueting operations.
  • Assist in menu planning and development, with a strong focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the kitchen team to deliver consistently high standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Ensure efficient service during busy periods, maintaining organisation and attention to detail.
  • Oversee food preparation, cooking, and plating to ensure consistency and excellence.
  • Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and minimise waste in line with cost control targets.
  • Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene, HACCP, and safety compliance.
  • Step into a leadership role in the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring smooth kitchen operations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie within a 4* hotel or high-volume hospitality environment.
  • Strong background in fresh food kitchens, with experience across restaurant, bar food, and banqueting.
  • A passion for high-quality ingredients and modern cooking techniques.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong understanding of HACCP and food safety standards.
  • A positive, can-do attitude with a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
