Retail General Manager – Cork City

Our client, a long established and successful specialist lighting company with a reputation for delivering excellent service and fantastic product is seeking to recruit an experienced Store Manager / General Manager to take over the overall commercial and operational management of the business.

This is a fantastic job opportunity for a Store Manager looking to join a business where they can be an instrumental leader in driving the business forward.

The company operates from a modern 4,000 sqft Cork city centre showroom with an excellent street presence. As an Independent retailer, you will have full P&L, range buying and business strategy responsibility.

This job opportunity is ideal for an entrepreneurial individual who has real energy and a hunger to deliver success.

Job Specification:

• Assume overall management of the business including sales and marketing, buying and management of a motivated team
• Day-to-day management of the showroom ensuring excellent merchandising standards
• Devise and deliver an online strategy for the business
• Identify new business opportunities and implementing a plan of action for same
• Identify and attend trade shows, sourcing new product and keeping current on trends
• Create and implement new ideas to grow the business

Candidate skills and attributes:

• 4-5 years’ experience in a retail environment – Grocery, Non Food or Fashion experience
• Independent, ambitious and in search of a challenge
• Strong people management and Hr experience
• Great understanding of the digital channel
• P&L, financial reporting and margin management experience
• Creative with some interior’s knowledge advantageous
• Commercially savvy and interested in business

Salary package DOE

Excellent Basic plus performance bonus
