Excel Recruitment is currently recruiting a Staff Grade Physiotherapist to take up a rotational post, working between the hospital and the primary care team across the Cavan area.

This is a unique opportunity to develop your clinical skills across a diverse adult caseload, with strong emphasis on MSK, rehabilitation, and domiciliary care.

You will rotate between the hospital and various Primary Care locations including Cavan Town, West Cavan (Ballyconnell), Arva/Killeshandra, Cootehill, Bailieborough, Ballyjamesduff, and Virginia.

Purpose of the Role

As part of this dynamic rotational team, you’ll play a central role in the delivery of Physiotherapy services to patients both within the hospital and in their own homes. Your work will help support physical recovery, maintain independence, and reduce hospital admissions across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments and interventions for adults with MSK conditions, post-acute needs, mobility challenges, and falls risk.
  • Deliver treatment in both hospital-based and community settings, including domiciliary visits when required.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including GPs, Public Health Nurses, Occupational Therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual patient goals.
  • Contribute to quality improvement projects, clinical audits, and service development initiatives.
  • Maintain high-quality documentation in line with CORU and HSE standards.
  • Attend regular clinical supervision and CPD opportunities.

Requirements:

  • BSc in Physiotherapy (or equivalent recognised qualification)
  • CORU registration (or eligibility for registration).
  • At least 1 year of post-graduate experience, preferably in MSK, rehabilitation, or community care.
  • Excellent clinical reasoning and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Full clean driving licence and access to a car (essential for community visits.
