Excel Recruitment is delighted to partner with a leading hotel in the Midlands to recruit an experienced Hotel Operations Manager with a strong Food & Beverage focus.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a dynamic hospitality professional to join the senior leadership team of a busy and successful hotel. The role will oversee daily hotel operations while taking strategic ownership of the Food & Beverage division, ensuring an outstanding guest experience across all departments.

Working closely with the General Manager and wider leadership team, you will play a key role in shaping culture, improving performance, and supporting the long-term growth and development of the hotel’s people and operations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting and collaborating with the wider hotel leadership team to achieve operational and commercial objectives.
• Leading the day-to-day operation of the hotel’s Food & Beverage departments, ensuring exceptional service delivery at all times.
• Managing, mentoring, and developing large teams across Food & Beverage and hotel operations.
• Creating a positive and engaging workplace culture that promotes teamwork, accountability, and excellence.
• Coaching, training, and developing junior managers, supervisors, and team members to support their career progression.
• Identifying future leaders within the business and implementing succession planning initiatives.
• Driving employee engagement, retention, and departmental performance.
• Leading from the floor during busy service periods, setting the standard for service excellence and guest satisfaction.
• Monitoring operational performance and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Managing staffing levels, labour costs, scheduling, and productivity across departments.
• Working closely with department heads to ensure seamless communication and operational efficiency.
• Supporting revenue growth through exceptional service standards and commercial awareness.
• Overseeing stock management, purchasing, cost control, and departmental budgets within Food & Beverage.
• Managing guest feedback effectively and implementing service improvements where required.
• Ensuring full compliance with hotel policies, food safety, health & safety, and operational standards.
• Maintaining exceptional standards throughout all guest-facing areas of the hotel.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as a Hotel Operations Manager, Food & Beverage Manager, Operations Manager, Senior Duty Manager, or similar senior hospitality leadership role.
• Proven experience managing large teams within a busy hotel environment.
• Outstanding leadership skills with a genuine passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing people.
• Strong experience supporting employee training, engagement, and career development programmes.
• Ability to empower and motivate teams to consistently deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• A hands-on management style with a visible presence throughout the operation.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, labour costs, stock, and profitability.
• Experience working closely with senior leadership teams and delivering operational improvements.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.
• Passion for hospitality, people development, and operational excellence.
