Marketing Assistant Retail

My client is a well-known big box retailer with an online business and stores across Ireland and the UK.

They are recruiting a Marketing Administrator to join their busy head office team in Galway City.

** I welcome recent marketing graduates who want to work hard in starting their marketing journey**

Ideally you will come with minimum of 6 mths solid marketing experience – that could be an internship.

As a Marketing Administrator, you should hold a qualification in Business or Marketing and be genuinely passionate about building a career in the field.

You must come with passion, drive, a good worth ethic and a willingness to learn and embrace new responsibilities.

This is a busy, varied role that requires someone who can manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with confidence.

You must also have good attention to detail for example to brief artwork for the retail catalogue.

For social media you may have to be in front of the camera – this is just a very small part of the job but something you must be comfortable with.

Responsibilities for the job of Marketing Assistant Retail

  • Coordinating the planning and execution of Point of Sale (POS) materials, such as in-store fold-down cards and promotional messaging, aligned with weekly schedules and campaign calendars, working closely with buyers, store teams, and design colleagues.
  • Overseeing the organisation and reporting of in-store product demonstrations throughout the year.
  • Managing social media competitions across Facebook and Instagram, including preparing briefs, overseeing execution, coordinating with winners, and arranging prizes.
  • Supporting the proofreading and coordination of a 300-page toy catalogue, liaising directly with buyers and suppliers.
  • Monitoring and reporting on competitor marketing and promotional activity.
  • Assisting with supplier marketing plans as required.
  • Contributing to the creation of engaging content for social media channels.
  • Carrying out other marketing-related tasks as necessary, in line with seasonal activity and the wider needs of the marketing team.
