Junior Fashion Designer

My client, a popular and successful fashion, homewares, and gift retailer is seeking to recruit a creative Junior Fashion Designer. In this role, you will support the Designer in the design and development of the seasonal collections. This is an amazing opportunity to join a progressive employer with a values-based culture. Responsibilities of this Junior Fashion Designer job include:

• To contribute towards research, trend, fabrics, and colour for the brands lifestyle ranges in both home and clothing.
• Responsible for supporting the Designer in the design and development of the seasonal collections.
• Determine commercial trends and create artwork for our Homewares range.
• Manage the development of products from concept design to launch, liaising with buyers, ensuring deadlines are met.
• To liaise with both Irish and international suppliers.
• Create technical packs and liaise with international suppliers to ensure efficient sampling.
• To assist in the sourcing and development of fabrics and trimmings.
• To assist with the updating of range plans using Adobe packages.
• To be style led in your designs, while being trend aware.
• To work with packaging experts, to bring the product to mark.

Requirements for this Junior Fashion Designer job include:

• Creative flair, originality and eye for excellent design is essential.
• Excellent computer skills full knowledge of the Adobe creative suite such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Ability to work on numerous seasons at once and across different categories.
• Commercial awareness and up to date knowledge of retail and consumer trends.
• An in-depth knowledge of repeat print and pattern design is essential.
• Successful candidates should be confident and be able to forecast and give presentations to all levels of management.
