Excel Recruitment is seeking a HR Generalist for our client who specialises in the catering and food services industry. This is a 9 month maternity leave contract supporting a busy, fast-paced, multi-site operation across Leinster. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional with a strong food services or FMCG background to take ownership of a broad generalist remit. You will work closely with operational managers, providing practical HR support across employee relations, recruitment, performance, attendance and the wider employee lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key HR contact for managers and employees across the business.
• Coach and support managers in handling day-to-day people matters confidently and consistently.
• Manage employee relations cases from initial issue through to resolution.
• Support managers with attendance, performance and absence matters.
• Coordinate recruitment and ensure new employees have a smooth onboarding experience.
• Oversee key employee lifecycle activities, including probation, contractual changes and leavers.
• Work closely with operational teams to identify people priorities and support workforce requirements.
• Help drive employee engagement and HR initiatives across multiple locations.
• Ensure HR records, systems and reporting are accurate and up to date.
• Promote consistent application of company policies and Irish employment legislation..

Requirements

• At least three years’ generalist HR experience.
• Food services or FMCG HR experience is essential.
• Strong hands-on employee relations experience.
• Good knowledge of Irish employment legislation.
• Experience supporting managers in a fast-paced operational environment.
• HR qualification, with CIPD accreditation or progress towards it desirable.
• Confident communicator with strong organisation and relationship-building skills.
• Comfortable using HR systems and Microsoft Office.
• Must be available to start straight away
