Healthcare Assistant

Excel Healthcare is currently recruiting a permanent Healthcare Assistant on behalf of our client in Charlestown, Co. Mayo. This is the perfect fit if you are living near the area or are planning to relocate to the West of Ireland.

Located in the beautiful countryside, this residential home is run by a passionate family along with a dedicated team of nurses and healthcare assistants. It is situated between Charlestown and Knock Airport and accessible by the N17 road. As the staff adapts a person-centered approach when caring for the residents, the ideal candidate will be empathetic, a good communicator, and have the ability to work effectively as a team player. This would suit a Healthcare Assistant of any level who is looking to settle into a permanent role in a supportive and welcoming working environment.

Job responsibilities:

• Help and encourage residents with their activities of daily living
• Promote a high standard of care at all times
• Be familiar with residents individual care plans and report any changes to the nurse on duty
• Communicate professionally and warmly with residents, their families and with colleagues

Requirements:

• A QQI qualification in Healthcare studies is an advantage
• Some experience in care of the older person is desirable
• Excellent interpersonal skills
