General Manager – Fashion

Our client, a leading UK sports/fashion retailer with a dominant presence in the Irish market is seeking an experienced General Manager for their Cork City Centre store.

Our client is one of the fastest growing retailers with continued expansion plans on the horizon. Due to their continuous success, they are seeking a highly driven and commercial General Manager with 5+ years of experience and with strong business acumen, P&L, and customer service experience.

Reporting to the Area Manager, as General Manager you will be responsible for leading a team of 60+ in driving store sales, managing store expenditure, and delivering best practice store standards.

This is a great opportunity for a Senior Store Manager with experience in managing large teams, strong commercial and operational experience in a high turnover business, and with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities of this job:

• Manage store operations and ensure delivery of KPI’s
• Be accountable for all store compliance with processes and procedures
• Train and coach your team to deliver exceptional customer service thus maximising sales opportunities
• Ensure wage controls are met on a weekly basis and manage compliance with processing of payroll issues
• Plan store schedules in line with trading patterns and business expectations
• Identify internal talent and use development opportunities and performance management processes to drive and reward exceptional performance
• Understand and promote the business’s core values and coach the team to engage with these values
• Develop, coach, and motivate your team to achieve success, whilst developing strong relationships and ensuring everyone is working toward the same goals

Skills and experience required for this job:

• 5+ years of Senior Store management experience in high-volume fast-paced retail
• Experience with managing teams of 60+
• Ability to work well under pressure and to strict deadlines
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to analyse company and store reports
• Self-driven in own personal development
