Key Responsibilities of this Assistant Manager job include:

  • Support the Store Manager with the day-to-day running of a busy furniture showroom
  • Drive a consultative sales culture focused on understanding customer needs and making sales yourself
  • Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team to maximise performance and achieve sales targets
  • Ensure customers receive an exceptional experience throughout their entire purchasing journey, from initial consultation through to delivery
  • Monitor and analyse sales performance, implementing strategies to drive growth and improve conversion rates
  • Support operational processes to ensure the smooth running of the store
  • Take responsibility for the showroom in the absence of the Store Manager

Skills and Requirements for the Assistant Manager

  • Strong consultative sales experience with a proven track record of delivering results
  • Experience leading and developing teams in a target-driven retail environment
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and building long-term customer relationships
  • Commercially minded with strong sales leadership skills
  • Operationally savvy with the ability to support back-office and stock management responsibilities
  • Experience working in a high-volume retail environment is highly desirable
  • Furniture, homewares, interiors, lifestyle, or premium retail experience would be advantageous
  • Flexibility to work a 5 over 7 roster
