Excel Recruitment is proud to partner with a high-performing Tier 2 main contractor to recruit a Finishing Foreman / Internals Site Manager for a landmark mixed-use student accommodation development in Galway City.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established and respected contractor delivering high-quality projects across Ireland. Responsibilities for Finishing Foreperson

  • Oversee and coordinate all internal finishing works on a large mixed-use development.
  • Manage subcontractors and direct labour across trades including joinery, carpentry, plastering, tiling, painting, and M&E fitouts.
  • Ensure all finishing works are completed to the highest quality standards and project specifications.
  • Plan, sequence, and schedule finishing activities to meet strict deadlines and handover dates.
  • Monitor progress, identify issues, and resolve on-site challenges efficiently.
  • Manage snagging and de-snagging processes, ensuring all works are completed ahead of client inspections.
  • Maintain a strong focus on health and safety compliance across all site activities.
  • Liaise with the Project Manager, client representatives, architects, and consultants throughout the finishing stage.
  • Provide regular progress reports and updates to senior management.

Requirements for Finishing Foreperson

  • Proven experience as a Finishing Foreman or Internals Site Manager, ideally on large-scale residential or mixed-use developments.
  • Strong background in managing multiple finishing trades and delivering high-quality fit-out works.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction processes, quality standards, and health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to coordinate and lead subcontractors and direct labour effectively.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to achieving outstanding finishes.
