Excel Recruitment is delighted to partner with a leading residential developer in the Irish construction market to recruit an experienced Finishing Foreperson for their team in Cork. This is an excellent opportunity to join a company dedicated to delivering high-quality projects while fostering a supportive working environment.

Responsibilities for Finishing Foreperson

As a Finishing Foreperson, you will play a key role in ensuring top-quality finishes and maintaining health & safety standards while driving the project to completion. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing health & safety on-site, ensuring full compliance with regulations.
  • Overseeing subcontractor scope and maintaining commercial awareness of packages.
  • Monitoring project progress against delivery targets and proactively addressing delays.
  • Conducting regular site inspections, identifying and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Ensuring all documentation, including sign-off sheets and IFCOs, is completed on Zutec.
  • Coordinating subcontractors and service providers to meet testing and commissioning schedules.
  • Managing snagging labour to ensure efficient, high-quality unit handovers.
  • Overseeing units from plastering/skimming through to 2nd fix, snagging, and final handover.
  • Attending daily whiteboard meetings and contributing to progress updates.
  • Managing snag lists and working closely with subcontractors to ensure timely closeout.
  • Liaising with site administrators, completions coordinators, and the sales team to provide handover updates.
  • Engaging with homeowners and potential purchasers to ensure outstanding customer service and prompt aftercare issue resolution.

Requirements for Finishing Foreperson

  • Proven ability to meet tight timeframes while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail and a structured, methodical approach.
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A proactive approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
