Responsibilities of the Duty Manager

• Oversee the daily operations of a busy café and front-of-house service
• Lead, motivate, and support staff to deliver a high standard of service
• Ensure an excellent customer experience at all times
• Manage team scheduling, breaks, and shift coordination
• Monitor stock control, ordering, and minimise waste
• Ensure full compliance with HACCP and food safety standards
• Handle customer queries and resolve complaints professionally
• Work closely with senior management to maintain smooth service delivery
• Support the team on the floor as required, including barista and counter service

Requirements of the Duty Manager

• Previous experience in a Duty Manager, Café Manager, or Supervisor role
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• A hands-on approach with a passion for customer service
• Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible availability, including weekends
• Good understanding of HACCP and food safety regulations
