Department Manager – Cork

Our client, a large international retail chain is seeking an experienced Department Manager to join their Big box retail team in Cork.

They offer a salary up to €40k along with great benefits and the chance to join a retailer that invests in their people and provides clear progression paths.

Key Responsibilities of the Department Manager Job

• Support the Store Manager with the daily operation of a high-volume retail store
• Lead, motivate and coach teams to deliver excellent customer service
• Drive sales performance and achieve store and departmental targets
• Ensure excellent standards of merchandising and store presentation
• Monitor stock levels and support stock management processes
• Manage operational challenges
• Support recruitment, onboarding and employee development
• Ensure health and safety and compliance standards are maintained

Skills and Requirements of the Department Manager Job

• Previous experience in a Department Manager, Duty Manager, or Team Leader role
• Experience working within a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Commercial awareness with a track record of delivering results
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety and compliance standards
