Deli Manager – Supermarket – Dublin

Excel Recruitment is currently recruiting a Deli Manager for our client’s busy supermarket in South Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced fresh food retail professional to join a well-established business, take ownership of a high-performing deli department, and lead a dedicated team in delivering exceptional standards in food quality and customer service.

Salary: €40k – €42k plus bonus

Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the deli department, ensuring high standards in food quality, presentation, and customer service
• Lead, train, and motivate the deli team to deliver excellent service and maintain a productive working environment
• Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage waste effectively to maximise profitability and minimise shrink
• Ensure full compliance with HACCP, food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards at all times
• Drive sales and margin performance through strong merchandising, promotions, and fresh food innovation
• Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, organisation, and food preparation across the deli area
• Work closely with store management to support overall store operations and deliver on department targets
• Handle customer queries and complaints professionally, ensuring a consistently positive shopping experience

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a Deli Manager, Fresh Food Manager, or similar supervisory role within a supermarket or retail food environment
• Strong knowledge of deli operations, fresh food standards, and team management
• Excellent understanding of HACCP, food safety, and hygiene compliance
• Proven ability to manage stock, waste, margins, and department performance effectively
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• Passion for fresh food retail and delivering an outstanding customer experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain high operational standards
• Flexible to work early shifts and weekends as required
