Excel Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Chef Manager to lead a busy catering operation based in Midleton. This is an excellent opportunity for a culinary professional who is passionate about high-quality food, team leadership, and delivering exceptional service in a contract catering environment – all while enjoying a great work-life balance with weekday hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily kitchen operations, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality meals
  • Plan and execute seasonal, nutritious, and cost-effective menus
  • Manage food purchasing, stock control, and supplier relationships
  • Lead, train, and motivate the kitchen team to maintain high standards
  • Ensure full compliance with HACCP, food safety, and health & safety regulations
  • Maintain excellent client relationships and respond to feedback proactively
  • Monitor financial performance, including budgeting and cost control

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Chef Manager, Head Chef, or similar leadership role
  • Strong background in contract catering or high-volume food service preferred
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Solid understanding of food safety and HACCP procedures
  • Ability to manage budgets and control costs effectively
  • Creative approach to menu planning with a focus on quality and presentation
