Excel Recruitment is delighted to partner with a leading residential developer to recruit a high calibre Building Services Engineer for their team. Responsibilities for Building Services Engineer

  • Drive quality assurance across all Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) installations on complex residential developments, ensuring alignment from early coordination through to final sign-off and handover
  • Provide technical support to site teams, facilitating the seamless integration of M&E services and resolving installation issues as they arise
  • Interface with architects and structural engineers to coordinate M&E requirements across multiple disciplines
  • Oversee the performance of specialist subcontractors on site, ensuring delivery meets both schedule and quality expectations
  • Coordinate directly with utility companies, local authorities, and project consultants to manage the timely delivery of essential services such as electricity, gas, water, telecoms, and lighting
  • Proactively identify and manage the diversion or upgrade of existing utility networks as needed to support ongoing site works
  • Contribute to the business’s value engineering strategy by researching and recommending efficient and future-ready mechanical and electrical systems
  • Manage temporary service infrastructure, including power and water supplies, throughout the construction phase

Requirements for Building Services Engineer

  • Qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering
  • At least four years’ post-graduate experience in a similar role within the construction or property development sector
  • Genuine enthusiasm for sustainability, energy efficiency, and new innovations in residential M&E design
  • A background in trades is an asset but not essential
  • Self-driven and well-organised, with the ability to manage tasks independently while collaborating effectively within a team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong focus on teamwork and coordination
  • Strong time management and a results-oriented mindset
  • Full driving licence and readiness to travel between active sites in the Greater Dublin area
