Assistant Product Technologist – Home & Lifestyle

Our client, a hugely popular homeware and fashion retailer, is seeking a confident Assistant Product Technologist for their Home & Lifestyle team. As Assistant Product Technologist for our client’s Home & Lifestyle team, you must already have strong technical expertise to deliver quality products that are safe, legal and fit for purpose. You will come with experience in homeware, soft furnishings and toys and be up-to-date on relevant testing. Dublin city centre based.

Your day-to-day of this Assistant Product Technologist job include:

• Demonstrate technical knowledge to support the delivery of quality products that are safe, legal and fit for purpose.
• Assist with product development and adhere to “the Best Practice” sample process flow
• Investigate all Gold Seal rejections and communicate quality issues to product operations teams and suppliers
• Build competitor awareness to enable quality, fit and performance benchmarking versus key competitors
• Work with the compliance team to ensure the company quality standards are in line with industry standards (Value/Volume retail).
• Demonstrate an understanding of the legal/product/retail requirements for labelling
• Assist in identifying potential fit, fabric or component quality issues
• Compile and conclude tech packs and score card analysis as part of the delivery of the key line programme to ensure Primark quality standards and cost efficiencies are achieved
• Investigate and support resolution of quality issues in a timely manner with clear solutions and communication to all relevant stakeholders

Requirements for this Assistant Product Technologist job include:

• 2+ years experience in similar position
• Proactive problem solver and commercially minded
• Full understanding of mass production
• Experience of working hand-in-hand to varied supplier base
• Experience of implementing process and following through to review
• Experience of managing and delivering on projects
