Assistant Store Manager | Ballina, Co. Mayo

Our client, a leading Irish department store retailer, is seeking an experienced Assistant Store Manager to support the leadership of their successful store in Ballina, Co. Mayo. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate retail leader to join a well-established business renowned for its excellent customer offering across fashion, homeware, beauty, and lifestyle categories.

Working closely with the Store Manager, you will play a key role in driving the commercial performance of the store, leading and developing the team, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. This opportunity is ideally suited to an experienced Assistant Manager or a strong retail Supervisor ready to take the next step in their career.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in the day-to-day running and commercial performance of the store.
• Lead, coach, and motivate the team to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional customer service.
• Drive commercial standards, ensuring excellent visual merchandising and stock presentation throughout the store.
• Monitor sales performance and implement action plans to maximise opportunities and achieve KPIs.
• Support recruitment, training, and development of the store team.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety standards.
• Act as Store Manager in their absence, maintaining high operational and customer service standards.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years’ retail management experience as an Assistant Manager, Department Manager, or Senior Supervisor.
• Experience within fashion, department store, or high-volume retail is highly desirable.
• A proven ability to motivate and develop teams within a fast-paced retail environment.
• Strong commercial awareness with a passion for delivering excellent customer service.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
• A hands-on approach with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
