Accounts Receivable Coordinator

Excel Recruitment is seeking an Accounts Receivable Coordinator to join a busy operations team. This person will have experience with international invoicing and multiple currencies.

This role would suit someone with a solid accounts background who understands not only the invoicing process, but also the wider impact Accounts Receivable has on cash flow and business performance. Experience within the construction industry would be particularly beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue accurate customer invoices in line with purchase orders, contracts and agreed pricing.
• Manage a high-value, multi-region invoicing portfolio, processing approximately 200 invoices per month.
• Review billing information to ensure invoices are accurate and meet contractual requirements.
• Submit invoices through email, customer portals and EDI systems.
• Investigate and resolve invoice queries and discrepancies promptly.
• Work closely with customers and internal Credit Control, Finance, Sales and Operations teams.
• Support the setup of new customer accounts, including credit checks and agreeing credit terms.
• Monitor Accounts Receivable activity, with a strong understanding of its impact on cash flow.
• Provide updates on financial KPIs and support month-end and year-end reporting.
• Assist with cost analysis and other financial administration activities.
• Maintain accurate records and take ownership of outstanding billing issues.

Requirements

• Previous experience in Accounts Receivable, invoicing or a similar accounts-based role.
• Experience working with international and multi-entity accounts is essential.
• Experience managing high-value and high-volume invoicing across multiple currencies.
• Strong understanding of the relationship between Accounts Receivable and business cash flow.
• Ability to read and interpret contracts, purchase orders, pricing structures and billing agreements.
• Construction industry experience is highly desirable.
• Experience working with international contracts would be an advantage.
• Commercial mindset with the ability to understand the wider financial picture rather than focusing solely on invoice processing.
• Confident communicator who can work effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.
