Accounts Assistant – Accounts Payable & Receivable

My client based in Roscommon, is a well-respected retail business supplying the local community, tradespeople, and builders with a huge choice of products: electrical goods, hardware, building, heating, plumbing, painting, gardening and more!!

They are recruiting an Accounts Assistant whose role will include a mix of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable (their trade customers).

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year in AP or AR and experience working with Intact iQ would be a bonus but not essential.

Salary: Up to €40k, may be some wiggle room but must reflect level of experience.

Hours are 8.30-5 Monday to Friday, office based with no hybrid option.

I am looking for someone who is driven and eager, who is open to taking on more responsibilities as time goes on.

Responsibilities for the job of Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable:

• Process and maintain both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Manage the day-to-day administration of trade customer accounts.
• Raise and process sales invoices accurately.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer account records.
• Deal with trade customer account queries, investigating and resolving invoice or account discrepancies.
• Set up and maintain new trade customer accounts, ensuring all relevant information is recorded correctly.
• Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Match supplier invoices against purchase orders and delivery documentation where applicable.
• Reconcile supplier statements and investigate any discrepancies.
• Prepare supplier payments in line with agreed payment terms and company procedures.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding invoice, statement, and general account queries.
• Maintain accurate and organised financial records and supporting documentation.
• Support the finance team with month-end tasks and other accounting duties as required.
• Work closely with colleagues across the business to resolve customer and supplier account queries.
