Fresh Food Area Manager – Dublin

Excel Recruitment is proud to partner with one of Ireland’s leading retail groups in the search for an exceptional Fresh Food Area Manager to oversee a portfolio of high-performing stores across Dublin.

Working closely with Store Managers and senior leadership, you will play a pivotal role in driving fresh food excellence, maximising profitability, and ensuring every store delivers an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Driving sales growth, gross profit, and margin performance across all fresh food departments
• Supporting Store Managers and Department Managers to deliver exceptional operational standards
• Coaching, mentoring, and developing management teams to achieve their full potential
• Ensuring all stores consistently exceed HACCP, food safety, and compliance standards
• Leading internal audits and preparing stores for external inspections
• Implementing fresh food strategies, promotions, and category development initiatives
• Identifying opportunities to improve customer experience, product range, and store presentation
• Monitoring KPIs, analysing performance, and implementing action plans to improve results
• Working closely with senior management to deliver commercial objectives and business growth
• Supporting new store openings, refurbishments, and fresh food development projects where required

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience as a Fresh Food Area Manager, Area Manager, Regional Manager, Fresh Food Manager, or similar multi-site retail leadership role
• A strong background within supermarkets, convenience retail, or forecourt retail
• Excellent commercial acumen with proven success in increasing sales, controlling costs, and improving profitability
• Extensive knowledge of HACCP, food safety legislation, and retail compliance
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop high-performing teams
• Excellent communication, organisation, and relationship-building skills
• A hands-on approach with a passion for operational excellence
• The ability to analyse KPIs and implement improvements across multiple locations
• A full clean driving licence
