SHEQ Compliance Officer

Our client, a leading logistics and supply chain organisation, is seeking a SHEQ Compliance Officer to join their team based in North/West Dublin.

This role will be responsible for maintaining and developing the company’s Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with ISO standards, GDP requirements and associated regulatory obligations. Working closely with operational teams and senior management, you will play a key role in driving quality, compliance and continuous improvement across the business.

This opportunity would suit an experienced quality or compliance professional looking for their next challenge, or an ambitious recent graduate who has gained practical exposure to Quality Management Systems through an internship, placement year or graduate programme within an ISO 9001-certified environment. Candidates should ideally have at least one year’s experience working within an ISO 9001 environment, gained through employment, placement, internship or graduate programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, develop and continuously improve the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and associated document control systems.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with ISO 9001 requirements and support the implementation of revised standards when required.
  • Support the management and development of the Integrated Management System, including Quality, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety elements.
  • Act as a key support for GDP compliance, ensuring standards are maintained in line with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Assist in the implementation and management of applicable Food Grade accreditation standards.
  • Work closely with operational managers to develop, review and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and associated documentation.
  • Ensure documentation is completed accurately and maintained in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Support investigations into non-conformances, GDP deviations, customer complaints and quality-related incidents.
  • Manage and monitor Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), ensuring root causes are identified and actions are implemented effectively.
  • Support Change Control processes and ensure associated records are maintained and reviewed.
  • Identify risks and opportunities for improvement across operational and compliance activities.
  • Plan, coordinate and conduct internal audits in line with the annual audit schedule.
  • Liaise with external auditors, certification bodies and customers during audit activities.
  • Track audit findings and ensure corrective actions are completed within agreed timelines.
  • Prepare QMS reports, KPI metrics and management review documentation for senior management.
  • Deliver QMS, ISO and compliance training across the business and provide induction training for new employees.
  • Promote a culture of quality, compliance, safety and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
  • Support operational improvement projects that positively impact business performance, customer service and compliance standards.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with regulatory requirements, customer expectations and company policies.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum of one year’s experience working within an ISO 9001 environment.
  • Experience in Quality, Compliance, Document Control or Operational Management within a regulated environment.
  • Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Knowledge of CAPA processes, non-conformance management and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience supporting internal and external audits.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and business systems.
  • Knowledge of Good Distribution Practice (GDP) would be advantageous.
  • Experience with Food Grade standards and accreditations is desirable.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards would be beneficial.
  • Internal Auditor qualification and/or GDP Champion training is desirable.
  • Degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Quality Management, Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
  • Highly organised with a proactive, solution-focused approach.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the business.
