Chef Job, Healthcare

Excel Recruitment is currently looking for experienced Relief Chefs to work across HSE units in Dublin and surrounding areas. This role is offered on a casual full time basis, providing flexible opportunities within busy healthcare environments.

This position would suit a qualified Chef with experience in high-volume catering who is looking for flexible work. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of food safety standards, experience working in fast-paced kitchens, and the ability to deliver a high standard of catering for patients and staff within a structured healthcare setting.

Whether you are looking for 1-2 days per week or full time hours weekly, we have shifts to suit your schedule. This is a great opportunity if you are between roles, working part-time, or looking to pick up additional hours while earning an excellent hourly rate.

Responsibilities of the Chef Job

• Prepare and cook meals in a high-volume healthcare kitchen
  * Ensure all food is prepared in line with HACCP and food safety standards
  * Assist with large-scale food preparation for patients and staff
  * Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment
  * Follow all health & safety and HSE guidelines
  * Work effectively as part of a catering team

Requirements for the Chef Job

• Professional Chef qualification (essential):
   - QQI Level 6 in Professional Cookery or equivalent
   - City & Guilds 706/1 & 706/2 accepted
  * Experience working in a high-volume kitchen (healthcare experience desirable)
  * Strong understanding of HACCP and food hygiene practices
  * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  * Manual Handling & HACCP Level 2 (or willingness to obtain)
  * Ability to provide references covering 5 years
  * Valid right to work in Ireland
  * Willingness to undergo Garda Vetting
  * Must complete HSE online training in order to work in HSE units
