Our client is a leading facilities and engineering services provider supporting a high-spec medical devices manufacturing site in Kilkenny. This is a well-structured, technically advanced environment with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

They are now looking for a Facilities Manager – a fantastic opportunity for a senior engineer, supervisor, or emerging leader ready to step into a broader role with real ownership, visibility, and progression.

The Opportunity

This role offers the chance to move beyond day-to-day maintenance and step into a position where you’ll be involved in how a site operates, performs, and improves over time.

Working within a supportive structure, you’ll build your leadership capability while gaining exposure to planning, performance management, compliance, and team development – all within a highly regulated and professional environment. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support and oversee the day-to-day facilities operations across the site
  • Work closely with a team of technicians, helping to coordinate workloads and priorities
  • Assist with team leadership, coaching, and development, building a strong team culture
  • Contribute to planning and delivery of preventative and reactive maintenance programmes
  • Use CMMS systems to help track performance, schedule work, and ensure compliance
  • Support resource planning, shift coordination, and operational organisation
  • Assist with contractor management and external service providers
  • Drive high standards of EHS, GMP, and site compliance
  • Get involved in resolving issues, improving processes, and maintaining site performance
  • Support reporting, KPIs, and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across the site

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in a facilities, maintenance, or engineering environment
  • A qualification in Engineering or a recognised trade background (Electrical, Mechanical, etc.)
  • Someone ready to step into a broader management or leadership role
  • Strong technical understanding of building services, M&E, and site systems
  • A practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving ability
  • Interest in developing skills in team leadership, planning, and operational performance
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work across teams
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on improvement and reliability
