Hard Services Lead – Medical Devices Manufacturing Site – Kilkenny

Our client is a leading facilities and engineering services provider, supporting a high-spec medical devices manufacturing site in Kilkenny. This is a technically driven environment with strong systems, structured processes, and a focus on reliability, compliance, and continuous improvement.

They are now seeking a Hard Services Lead – a great opportunity for a skilled engineer or senior technician ready to take the next step into a broader, more visible role with real responsibility and progression.

The Opportunity

This isn’t just about overseeing maintenance – it’s about stepping into a position where you’ll build your leadership capability while staying close to the technical side.

You’ll work within a well-supported structure, gaining exposure to planning, reporting, and site-wide operations, while still being actively involved in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and day-to-day coordination. This role is ideal for someone who wants to move beyond purely reactive maintenance and start contributing to how a site is managed, improved, and optimised.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support and coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities across the site
  • Work closely with technicians and contractors, helping to keep operations running smoothly
  • Use CMMS/CAFM systems for maintenance tracking, scheduling, and reporting
  • Assist with fault finding and resolution of M&E, HVAC, and site systems issues
  • Get involved in improving preventative maintenance routines and site efficiency
  • Support compliance with EHS procedures, permits, and site safety standards
  • Contribute to equipment upgrades, installations, and commissioning projects
  • Help track performance, downtime, and maintenance trends
  • Provide day-to-day technical support to the wider team
  • Gain exposure to asset management, planning, and continuous improvement initiatives

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in a facilities, maintenance, or engineering role (e.g. technician, engineer, or supervisor)
  • A qualification or trade background in Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline
  • Someone ready to step into a more senior, site-wide role
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach
  • Experience with maintenance systems (CMMS/CAFM) is an advantage
  • Interest in developing skills in planning, reporting, and team coordination
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities

Why Apply?

  • A clear step-up opportunity into a leadership-level role
  • Exposure to a modern, highly regulated medical devices environment
  • Strong support and structure to help you develop beyond your current position
  • Opportunity to gain experience in asset management, compliance, and site operations
  • Work with advanced systems and a professional engineering team
  • Long-term career progression within a growing organisation
