Assistant Manager – Longford

Excel Recruitment are seeking a driven Assistant Manager to support the leadership of a busy, high-volume store in Longford with one of Ireland’s leading grocery retailers.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can drive performance, maintain high standards, and support the Store Manager in delivering strong commercial results in a competitive retail market.

The Role:

• Support overall store performance, driving sales, margin, and labour control
• Lead, coach, and develop department managers and store teams
• Maintain exceptional standards across fresh food, grocery, and front-end operations
• Deliver a strong customer experience in a fast-paced environment
• Support stock control, waste management, and cost efficiency
• Ensure full compliance with HACCP and health & safety regulations

The Candidate:

• Proven experience in supermarket or convenience retail management
• Strong commercial awareness with a focus on KPIs and performance
• Experience managing teams in a high-volume retail environment
• A hands-on, energetic leader who leads from the front
