Assistant Product Technologist – Home & Lifestyle

Our client, a leading international retailer, is seeking an Assistant Product Technologist to join their Home & Lifestyle team in Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to support product quality, compliance, and development across a diverse product portfolio. Dublin based.

Key Responsibilities of this Assistant Product Technologist include:

  • Support the Product Technologist in the development and delivery of high-quality products that meet customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and company quality standards.
  • Assist with product testing, sample approvals, and technical assessments, ensuring products are fit for purpose and commercially viable.
  • Investigate quality issues, testing failures, customer complaints, and product returns, helping to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor testing submissions and quality data, highlighting potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Work closely with suppliers to resolve technical queries, improve product quality, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Identify potential risks relating to product fit, fabrics, components, and supplier performance, making recommendations to support continuous improvement.
  • Analyse competitor products and market trends to support quality benchmarking and product development initiatives.
  • Support the delivery of training, quality updates, and best practice initiatives across internal teams and supplier partners.
  • Contribute to ongoing projects and continuous improvement activities within the Product Technology and Quality Assurance function.

Key Requirements of this Assistant Product Technologist include:

  • Previous experience in Product Technology, Quality Assurance, Product Development, Technical Services, or a similar role.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of product testing, quality assurance processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to assess risk and make sound commercial recommendations.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and eager to learn within a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Experience within homewares, lifestyle products, retail, or consumer goods would be advantageous.
