I’m partnering with a renowned 4-star hotel in Galway to recruit a talented and driven Sous Chef to join an exceptional culinary team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious chef to work with high-quality, fresh ingredients across a diverse food offering including a busy bar, restaurant, and banqueting operation. What You’ll Do
- Support the Head Chef in the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen across bar, restaurant, and banqueting operations.
- Assist in menu planning and development, with a strong focus on fresh, seasonal ingredients.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the kitchen team to deliver consistently high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Ensure efficient service during busy periods, maintaining organisation and attention to detail.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and plating to ensure consistency and excellence.
- Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and minimise waste in line with cost control targets.
- Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene, HACCP, and safety compliance.
- Step into a leadership role in the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie within a 4* hotel or high-volume hospitality environment.
- Strong background in fresh food kitchens, with experience across restaurant, bar food, and banqueting.
- A passion for high-quality ingredients and modern cooking techniques.
- Proven ability to lead and develop a team in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong understanding of HACCP and food safety standards.
- A positive, can-do attitude with a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
