Machine Operator – Food Production

Full Time | Permanent Position
£30,500 per annum

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Machine Operator to join a thriving and growing food production business based in North Belfast on a permanent basis. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment and may involve working independently at times.

We are looking for motivated individuals with strong mechanical awareness, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining high health and safety standards.

Hours of Work

This is a floating rota position covering shifts between:

• Monday to Friday
• 6:00am – 2:00am

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine machinery and equipment safety checks
• Ensure the efficient and continuous operation of production machinery
• Minimise downtime, waste, and production delays
• Operate a counterbalance forklift safely and effectively
• Load and unload lorries and transport pallets across site
• Maintain accurate production and departmental records
• Meet daily production targets and quality standards
• Work in line with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures
• Support production departments as required across the site
• Identify and report mechanical or operational issues promptly

Requirements

• At least 1 years’ experience within a food manufacturing or production environment
• Valid counterbalance forklift licence
• Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
• Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills
• Good understanding of health & safety procedures
• Good written and spoken English
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Flexible approach to working hours and overtime requirements
