We have an exciting opportunity for a Staff grade Occupational Therapist, to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team in Navan.

This role offers a unique chance to grow your skills in a well supported primary care setting. You’ll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care, contributing significantly to service development, and mentoring junior staff.

We have positions available for Staff Grade Occupational Therapists in the following services:

  • Paediatric Occupational Therapist, Navan
  • Adult Occupational Therapist, Navan

Purpose of the Role

As a Staff Grade Occupational Therapist in your chosen service (Paediatric or Adult), you will be instrumental in delivering essential Occupational Therapy services within a Primary Care team in Navan. You will manage a varied caseload, providing assessment and intervention to help individuals achieve their functional goals and participate fully in their daily lives. You’ll work closely with other healthcare professionals, patients, and families to ensure holistic and effective care.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention tailored to either paediatric or adult clients, addressing developmental, sensory, physical, cognitive, and psychosocial challenges.
  • Manage a diverse caseload, prioritising care needs to promote functional independence and participation in everyday activities.
  • Collaborate closely with patients/families, educators (for paediatric roles), and allied health professionals to ensure holistic and coordinated care.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of Occupational Therapy services within your team.
  • Participate in service audits and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain high standards of documentation in line with HSE and CORU guidelines.

Requirements

  • CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist is essential.
  • Ideally, a minimum of 1 year post-qualification experience in either a paediatric or adult setting, depending on the role you are applying for.
  • Strong clinical reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on person-centred care.
  • Full clean driver’s licence and access to a car for community-based visits.
