Excel Recruitment is currently recruiting an enthusiastic and dependable Catering Assistant to join our temp team for a variety of shifts in and around Galway City.

With shifts Monday through Friday between the hours of 06:00 and 18:00, this is a fantastic opportunity to work across a wide range of catering environments including hotels, restaurants, healthcare facilities and corporate settings. Ideal for candidates looking to build experience or enjoy flexible working hours.

Responsibilities of a Catering Assistant

• Assist with basic food preparation while maintaining food hygiene and safety standards
• Serve meals and beverages in a professional and friendly manner
• Keep kitchen, dining and service areas clean and orderly
• Replenish food stations and ensure serving areas are well-stocked
• Support chefs and kitchen teams with day-to-day tasks
• Engage positively with customers and handle basic queries
• Operate as part of a fast-paced, collaborative team

Requirements of Catering Assistant

• Previous experience in a catering, food service or hospitality
• Food Safety and Manual Handling certificates (training can be provided)
• A team player with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Effective communication and time management skills
• Barista experience is a bonus
• Access to reliable transport (own or public)
