Transport Manager

Negotiable Industrial and Warehouse Kildare

We are currently seeking an experienced and results-driven Transport Manager to lead and optimise our client’s transport operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily transport operations, including route planning, scheduling, and dispatch of vehicles.

  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of drivers and support staff to deliver consistent performance.

  • Ensure full compliance with all transport legislation, including RSA regulations, driver hours, vehicle maintenance, and tachograph laws.

  • Monitor and control transport costs, identifying efficiencies and implementing cost-saving initiatives.

  • Manage fleet maintenance schedules and ensure all vehicles are roadworthy and compliant.

  • Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to coordinate transport requirements effectively.

  • Prepare regular reports on transport performance, KPIs, and budgets for senior management.

  • Develop and maintain contingency plans to minimise service disruptions.

  • Ensure Health & Safety standards are consistently met across all transport activities.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Transport Manager or similar logistics management role.

  • Strong knowledge of Irish transport legislation and best practices.

  • CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) in Road Transport Management is essential.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive mindset.

  • Proficient in transport planning software and MS Office Suite.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.

  • Full, clean driving licence.
