Finishing Foreperson – Galway

Excel Recruitment is thrilled to partner with one of Ireland’s leading residential developers to recruit an experienced Finishing Foreperson for a major project in Galway.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing team with a strong pipeline of work in the West. The ideal candidate will have a passion for quality and a proven ability to deliver homes to the highest standard.

Responsibilities for Finishing Foreperson

• Take ownership of Health & Safety compliance during the final stages of the build
• Manage subcontractors and ensure finishing packages are delivered on time and within budget
• Monitor project milestones and take proactive steps to address delays or issues
• Conduct regular site inspections, identifying and resolving snags as early as possible
• Keep all finishing documentation up to date on Zutec, including sign-offs and IFCOs
• Coordinate subcontractors and service providers in line with testing and commissioning timelines
• Lead snagging teams to ensure efficient and high-quality unit completions
• Manage the delivery of units from plastering/skimming through to 2nd fix and final handover
• Contribute to daily whiteboard meetings and drive progress on site
• Work with subcontractors to close out snags quickly and to a high standard
• Collaborate with site administrators, completions coordinators, and sales teams to track unit status
• Represent the company when dealing with homeowners and purchasers to resolve any aftercare concerns

Requirements for Finishing Foreperson

• Track record of delivering high-quality units on residential projects
• Ability to meet tight programme targets without compromising on standards
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Proactive, hands-on approach and a strong sense of ownership
• Comfortable working collaboratively with teams across the site
