Our client, a leading and rapidly expanding UK retailer, is seeking to appoint an Duty Manager to join their team in Waterford. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Duty Manager or Supervisor looking to step up into a high-volume, big-box retail environment with strong progression opportunities.
As Duty Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of a large, fast-paced store with a high turnover. This is a hands-on role where you will lead by example, ensuring efficient operations, strong stock management, and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Deputy and Store Manager in leading by example, motivating the team to drive sales and deliver excellent customer service.
- Assist in overseeing daily store operations, ensuring the store is well-presented and efficiently merchandised to maximise sales.
- Work closely with the Deputy and Store Manager to improve efficiency and productivity across all departments.
- Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and support to retail colleagues to maintain high operational and service standards.
- Ensure team members have the necessary product knowledge and retail skills to perform their roles effectively.
- Monitor store operations, identifying areas for improvement and supporting initiatives to enhance performance.
- Assist in managing stock levels, replenishment, and compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and operational procedures.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience in a retail leadership role, ideally as a Duty Manager, Supervisor, or in a similar team-leading capacity.
- A strong team leader with a hands-on, coaching approach-supportive, approachable, and proactive.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, motivate, and support colleagues.
- A commercial mindset, with the ability to assist in driving sales, monitoring key retail metrics, and supporting store performance improvements.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven, with a positive, can-do attitude.
Salary & Benefits:
- Competitive salary (DOE) – 33k
- One weekend off per month
- 39.5 hours contract
