We are currently recruiting hardworking, reliable Catering Assistants to support busy kitchens and canteens across Limerick on a temporary basis. This role suits someone with previous catering or hospitality experience who can work at pace, follow instructions, and maintain high standards of food hygiene and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with basic food preparation (e.g., salads, sandwiches, plating) if necessary
  • Serve food and beverages during service times in a friendly, efficient manner
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dining, and service areas (including dishes and pot wash)
  • Support stock rotation, deliveries, and replenishment of food and consumables
  • Follow HACCP, food safety, allergen, and health & safety procedures at all times
  • Work as part of a team to ensure smooth service in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

  • Previous experience in catering, kitchens, hospitality, or cleaning roles (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of food hygiene and safe working practices
  • Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently during busy service periods
  • HACCP and Manual Handling certification required (training can be facilitated)
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible to take on temporary shifts (early mornings and/or weekdays may be required)
