Tax Accountant
Excel Recruitment has an excellent opportunity available for a Tax Accountant to join our clients a Semi-State organisation based in Dublin City Centre.
Our client a Semi-State Organisation based in Dublin City Centre are looking for an experienced Tax Accountant to join their team for a 12 month fixed term contract. This role will be responsible for the management of and regular reporting of all our clients Group tax activities. Our client is going through a massive period of change and growth and are working on a number of first of their kind significant projects where the Tax Accountant will be play a key role on partnering with the business to offer guidance and advise on all tax related matters.
Duties will include:
- Develop a detailed understanding of all the taxation (VAT, corporate, stamp duty, RCT, etc) requirements for the Group.
- Point of contact within the Group for taxation matters.
- Ensure compliance under all relevant tax areas.
- Provide tax support for the funding requirements for each business across the Group.
- Develop and share knowledge of, and demonstrate compliance with, various conditions of lending agreements, including timely settlement of obligations.
- Be point of contact for relationship with Revenue Commissioners and tax advisers.
- Assist the wider business with ad hoc corporate matters e.g. grant applications, project reporting, compliance reporting etc.
- Deal with internal and external auditors in relation to taxation and treasury matters.
- Contribute to the year end process and the budgetary process as it relates to taxation and disclosures.
- Contribute to the development of the Group’s financial systems.
- Support the activities of colleagues in Group Finance and the wider Finance team.
Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with a minimum of 3+ years relevant post qualification experience
- Tax experience/qualification.
- Excellent working knowledge of accounting packages and excel
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
- Excellent financial modelling skills
- Proven ability to manage critical processes against tight deadlines
- Ability to identify issues arising and work with senior management towards resolutions
- Proactive approach to work
