Location: Longford
Contract Type: 6-12-month contract initially, with possible extension
Role: Full-time, Monday to Friday ((0.8 WTE), 28 hours per week)
Salary: Aligned with HSE Senior Psychologist Pay Scales

We are looking to recruit an enthusiast and passionate Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to join an HSE adult mental health team in Longford.

Excel Recruitment are recruiting a Senior Clinical or Counselling Psychologist on behalf of an HSE Adult Mental Health Team in Longford. This role is suitable for a Psychologist with significant clinical experience in Adult Mental Health.

About the Role

  • As a Psychologist you will be central to the MDT, providing therapy to service users and their families, and supporting the team through reflective practice, consultation, supervision, and training.
  • You will also help the team to think about and manage the complex relationship dynamics that can arise in psychosis, so that care remains safe, effective, and compassionate.
  • Provide comprehensive psychological assessments and interventions for adults with complex mental health presentations.
  • You will contribute to clinical decision-making, service planning, and the promotion of psychological approaches across the team.
  • Manage and prioritise an independent caseload while working collaboratively with the MDT.
  • Contribute to individual care planning and service development.
  • Provide psychological consultation and formulation to team members.
  • Engage in reflective practice, supervision, and ongoing professional development.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Doctorate or equivalent in Clinical, Counselling, or Educational Psychology.
  • Eligibility for professional registration with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or relevant professional body.
  • Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years at Senior or equivalent level.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously while contributing to a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience working with adults with moderate to severe mental health difficulties.
  • Experience working with people with Psychosis from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Experience of delivering teaching and supervision in an MDT setting.
  • Excellent clinical formulation, intervention, and risk management skills.
  • Full driving licence and access to a car are essential for this role.
