Procurement Specialist

Our client, a highly established Irish food retail chain is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join their vibrant team in Portlaoise. You will manage your vendor base along with various areas of spend to ensure you drive best practices and improvements throughout the procurement process. Package:

• Salary €50 – 55k doe

Responsibilities of this role include:

• Manage Vendors and external spend with agreed budgets
• Develop effective working relationships with the onsite team to develop strong underpinning knowledge on site relating to products and services
• Supplier performance management of new vendors and new materials
• Track and report on departmental performance
• Create requisitions and purchase orders
• Working with the Business QA to develop, implement and maintain Quality Systems
• Promote and support the development of an effective and pro-active safety culture on site with the whole team working to work to identifying and eliminate hazards
• Preparing weekly and monthly purchasing reports / key purchasing information reports

Requirements for this role include:

• CIPS Qualification or working towards CIPS
• Min of 3 Years’ experience in FMCG Vendor performance
• Strong knowledge of the entire purchasing process
• Organisational skills
• Negotiation skills
