Payroll and Accounts Assistant

€40000 - €45000 Accounting & Finance Dublin South

Excel Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Payroll and Accounts Assistant to join our client based in Dublin 12.

Our client a leading Irish Retailer, are looking for a Payroll and Accounts Assistant to join their team. This will be a busy role working alongside the Financial Controller, providing support as an Accounts Assistant and will full responsibility for payroll and management of a payroll administrator.

Duties will include

  • Managing payroll function for 300+ employees
  • Process weekly bank payments files through online banking
  • Reconcile and maintain payroll-related accounts e.g. pension contributions, BIK etc.
  • Deal with staff queries responsively, accurately, and confidentially
  • Prepare and submit all Revenue returns relating to Payroll
  • Prepare and submit payroll-related CSO returns
  • Multiple Company bank reconciliations
  • Creditor reconciliations
  • Bring monthly management accounts to Trial Balance and assist the Financial Controller in completing month end
  • Ad hoc duties as required by the accounts team and general accounts administration

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role
  • Accounting Technician Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant
  • IPASS qualification
  • Experience with Sage Payroll and SAP is highly desirable
  • Strong Microsoft Office experience
  • Capable of working on own initiative with a high level of personal organisation and attention to detail
