Excel Recruitment are currently recruiting motivated Occupational Therapy Assistants on behalf of a Primary Care Team based in Tallaght. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment delivering high-quality, person-centred care.

Role Overview

The Occupational Therapy Assistant will work under the supervision of a qualified Occupational Therapist to support the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of service users in community and primary care settings.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Support Occupational Therapists in delivering intervention programmes for adults and older persons.

Assist with the implementation of treatment plans designed to promote independence in daily activities.

Carry out delegated assessments and therapeutic activities under supervision.

Support service users with activities of daily living, functional rehabilitation, and goal achievement.

Assist with home visits to observe functional performance and support environmental recommendations.

Provide practical support with equipment provision, demonstrations, and follow-up.

Monitor and report service user progress, changes, or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with HSE and professional standards.

Work collaboratively with service users, families, carers, and the wider multidisciplinary team.

Participate in team meetings, training, and service development initiatives.

Adhere to health and safety policies, infection control procedures, and professional codes of conduct.

Requirements

A relevant qualification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant or equivalent.

Experience working in a healthcare, community, or rehabilitation setting is desirable.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.

Ability to work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

A compassionate, person-centred approach to care.

Ability to manage workload effectively and work independently when required.

Full clean driver’s licence and access to own vehicle for community-based work.
