Key Responsibilities
- Support the overall daily operation of the supermarket as part of the management team
- Take ownership of recruitment, onboarding, and staff training processes
- Manage employee relations, including performance management and absence management
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and company HR policies
- Support and coach department managers on people management best practice
- Monitor staffing levels, rostering, and labour costs
- Drive a positive culture focused on engagement, retention, and performance
- Ensure high standards across customer service, store presentation, and operations
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in a retail management role (Duty Manager, Assistant Manager, or similar)
- Strong exposure to HR or people management within a retail environment
- Excellent knowledge of Irish employment legislation and HR best practices
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage both operational and people-focused responsibilities
- Highly organised with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
This is a 6-month maternity cover contract with strong exposure to a fast-paced retail operation and potential future opportunities.
