Housing Service Case Worker – Belfast

Excel Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Housing Service Case Worker on a permanent full-time basis, based in Belfast with a salary of £22,113

My client is a cross-border charity that has over 15 years of experience in delivering a wide range of services to those at risk of becoming homeless or having become homeless. As this is a floating service, you’ll need to have a driving licence and access to a car with business insurance.

Responsibilities:

With a full copy of the Job Duties and Person Spec available on request you will:

  • Aim to permanently house individuals who suffer from a range of complex needs and mental health illnesses, and to support individuals in sustaining their tenancy.
  • Use a holistic approach to support service users, with a tenancy-led, harm reduction and low threshold.
  • Provide a high level of advice and support, proactively encouraging service users to participate.
  • Signpost and support service users to a range of services to gain trust and to better their quality of life via interventions, support plans and group working.

Requirements:

  • Level 3 Health and Social Care and 2 years paid experience in a health and social care setting OR 3 years paid experience and 3 formal qualifications at Level 2 to include English and Maths
  • NISCC registered (or willing to register within probation period)
  • Sound working knowledge of risk management, risk assessment, and experience in support plans, key-working and assessing needs
  • Sound understanding of the issues that lead to homelessness
  • Knowledge of relevant statutory bodies and ability to work with relevant statutory bodies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible to work shifts that cover Mon-Sun along with evenings and weekends
  • Full driving licence and access to a car with business insurance
