Excel Recruitment is actively looking for experienced furniture fitters for a busy service in the Cork region.

Position Title: Furniture Fitting & Assembly Technician

Location: Cork

Job Type: Full-time fixed term contract (with a view to permanency)

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble flat-pack and modular furniture (e.g. wardrobes, bed frames, sliding units) at customer homes and/or store displays.

• Read, interpret, and follow assembly manuals and modular installation plans – often including IKEA or similar products.

• Handle on-site tasks such as mounting furniture to walls, cutting access points for sockets, removing skirting boards, or installing fillers as requested (with training provided).

• Provide on-site repair or minor maintenance of assembled items when needed.

• Deliver exceptional customer service – arrive on time, maintain cleanliness and safety, and gather updates or customer signatures.

• Manage service paperwork and report issues to supervisors promptly.

• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and van tidiness.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum of 1-2 year’s experience in furniture assembly, fitting, or similar skilled trade role.

• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools like cordless drills, jigsaws, skill saws, multi-tools, and mitre saws.

• Ability to read assembly manuals and modular storage plans accurately.

• Full clean B driving licence required.

• Strong communication skills and fluency in English.

• Punctual, reliable, and customer-focused attitude.

Desirable (but not mandatory)

• Carpentry or joinery background.

• Experience with specific brands

• Ability to perform minor on-site modifications during assembly.
